Chicken Smash Burger with Zero Maida Burger Buns

Ingredients:

  • Zero Maida Burger Buns – 2
  • Chicken breast – 1 (sliced into slabs)
  • Salt & pepper – to taste
  • Fresh herbs (optional)
  • Butter – for toasting
  • Oil – 1/4 tbsp
  • Cheese slice – 2 (optional)
  • Onion – 1 (sliced)
  • Lettuce leaves – 2
  • Tomato – 1 (sliced)
  • Sauce of choice (mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard)
  • Chili flakes – 1/2 tsp (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Buns:

    • Slice the burger buns in half.
    • Lightly butter the cut sides and toast them until golden and crisp. Set aside.
  2. Season the Chicken:

    • Slice the chicken breast into slabs to fit the buns.
    • Season with salt, pepper, and herbs (if using).
  3. Cook the Chicken:

    • Heat oil in a pan over high heat.
    • Place the chicken in the pan and sear for 2 minutes to create a golden crust.
  4. Smash & Add Cheese:

    • Flip the chicken over and press down gently with a spatula.
    • Add a slice of cheese on top and cook for another minute until melted.
  5. Assemble the Burger:

    • Spread sauce on the bottom half of the toasted bun.
    • Layer with fresh onion slices, lettuce, and tomato.
    • Place the cooked chicken patty on top.
    • Sprinkle chili flakes (if using) and close with the top bun.
  6. Serve:

    • Enjoy immediately with fries or a side of your choice!
