Cheese Chili Toast Sandwich with Zero Maida Whole Wheat Bread

Ingredients:

  • Zero Maida Whole Wheat Bread – 4 slices
  • Mozzarella or processed cheese – 1 cup (grated)
  • Green chili – 1 (finely chopped, optional)
  • Capsicum – 1 (finely chopped)
  • Small onion – 1 (finely chopped)
  • Cumin powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Chaat masala – 1/2 tsp
  • Red chili flakes – 1/2 tsp
  • Fresh coriander leaves – chopped
  • Butter – for spreading and cooking
  • Tomato ketchup – for serving (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Cheese Mixture:

    • In a bowl, combine grated cheese, finely chopped capsicum, onion, and green chili (if using).
    • Add cumin powder, chaat masala, red chili flakes, and chopped coriander leaves. Mix well.
  2. Prepare the Bread:

    • Spread a thin layer of butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Assemble the Sandwich:

    • Spread a generous amount of the cheese mixture on the unbuttered side of two slices of bread.
    • Top with the remaining two slices, buttered side up.
  4. Cook the Sandwich:

    • Heat a tawa or pan over medium heat.
    • Place the sandwiches on the tawa, buttered side down.
    • Cook until golden brown and crispy, then flip and cook the other side until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  5. Serve:

    • Remove from the pan and cut into halves or quarters.
    • Serve hot with tomato ketchup or chutney.
