Bread Chivda with Zero Maida Whole Wheat Bread

Serves: 4

Ingredients:

  • Zero Maida Whole Wheat Bread – 250g pack (cut into cubes)
  • Ghee or butter – 4 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds – 2 tsp
  • Green chilies (chopped) – 5-6
  • Curry leaves – 2 handfuls
  • Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
  • Hing (asafoetida) – 1/4 tsp
  • Cashews (roughly chopped) – 10-12
  • Salt – to taste
  • Fresh coriander – for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Toast the Bread:

    • Heat 2 tbsp ghee in a pan.
    • Toast bread pieces until golden brown, then remove.
  2. Prepare the Masala:

    • Add the remaining 2 tbsp ghee to the pan.
    • Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
    • Add green chilies, curry leaves, turmeric powder, and hing.
    • Sauté for a minute.
  3. Combine:

    • Add cashews and sauté until golden.
    • Add the toasted bread cubes and toss well.
    • Sprinkle salt and mix evenly.
  4. Serve:

    • Garnish with fresh coriander and serve warm.
