Aloo Jalapeno Tikki Burger with Zero Maida Burger Buns

Ingredients:

  • Zero Maida Burger Buns – 2
  • Large potatoes – 2 (boiled & mashed)
  • Small onion – 1 (finely chopped)
  • Jalapeno – 1 (finely chopped)
  • Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Red chili powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves – chopped
  • Oil – 2 tbsp (for cooking)
  • Butter – for toasting buns
  • Green chutney – as needed
  • Tamarind chutney – as needed
  • Cucumber, tomato, onion (thinly sliced)
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Cheese slices (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Aloo Jalapeno Tikki:

    • Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan over medium heat.
    • Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
    • Sauté onions until golden brown, then add ginger-garlic paste.
    • Add jalapeno, turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, and garam masala. Mix well.
    • Add mashed potatoes and salt. Mix thoroughly.
    • Add fresh coriander leaves, mix, and let cool slightly.
    • Shape into round patties.
  2. Cook the Patties:

    • Heat remaining oil in a pan.
    • Shallow-fry patties until golden brown and crispy.
  3. Prepare the Buns:

    • Spread butter inside the buns and toast until golden brown.
  4. Assemble the Burger:

    • Spread green chutney on the bottom bun, tamarind chutney on the top.
    • Place lettuce, potato patty, cheese (if using), cucumber, tomato, and onion.
    • Cover with the top bun.
  5. Serve:

    • Serve immediately with extra chutney on the side.
